Postpartum Physical Therapy
Pregnancy and childbirth can cause trauma to the pelvic floor muscles. This can result in urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, low back pain, weakness or abdominal separation. Dr. Berg believes every woman should have postpartum physical therapy to rehabilitate the injured muscles. Dr. Berg partners with midwives, OB’s, and chiropractors to create a comprehensive approach to pregnancy and postpartum care.
Recommended at 6 weeks postpartum

Childbirth Preparation
Become an empowered and active participant in your birth process. In the childbirth preparation session biofeedback is used to teach women how to fully relax pelvic muscles to maximize tissue stretch and extensibility needed for delivery. Come to this appointment with your birth plan in mind (and don’t worry if you don’t have one).
Recommended at 35 weeks.
“After a decade of medical gaslighting, I was beyond relieved to find Daranee Berg. She helped me prep for and recover from my first pregnancy (pelvic floor therapy and plantar fasciitis), and is currently working with me as I prepare for my second pregnancy.”

Pregnancy
Pregnancy is a time of anticipation and excitement. It is also a time for significant changes in your body. These changes may lead to areas of pain or discomfort in the back, pubic symphysis, round ligament, sacroiliac joints, or wrists. Some issues start with pregnancy or may have been present even before pregnancy as constipation, painful intercourse, or urine leakage. Daranee is a pelvic floor expert trained to alleviate these symptoms and help prepare your body and pelvic floor for birth.
“Thanks to Daranee, I was able to get through my pregnancy without major pain, and fixed a few issues I had from my previous pregnancies. She is very professional, I never felt uncomfortable, even during some of the most awkward or embarrassing conversations. Every single one of her recommendations has helped me, both during pregnancy and postpartum.”

Dry Needling
This treatment includes the use of thin needles inserted into or near myofascial trigger points (local bands of tight, irritable, and dysfunctional muscle tissue). This causes muscles to contract and is commonly used to decrease muscle tightness, increase blood flow, and reduce pain. Dry needling is paired with exercise and other physical therapy techniques to prevent trigger points from reoccurring.
“Daranee is wonderful to work with. She is very thorough and makes me feel comfortable. She always explains what she is doing and why. I started feeling better after our first session.”
